Centre - depressed / Vee Tank Presflo type wagons :

This listing was originally drawn up during 1996 when most of these wagons were still in service. However the majority of these wagons have been scrapped with re-use of underframes where possible. Some of the Blue Circle wagons are in store at Eastgate, Hope and other places whereas the powdered chemical tanks are stored. Some were re-introduced to traffic on flyash from Longannet power station to Blue Circles works at Westbury running with French built PCA wagons. The remaining BCC tanks see regular usage with Metalair tanks on Scottish cement flows from Dunbar. This page entirely updated July 2004.

One thing to note with the Dapol and Hornby PCA models is that they ride higher than the Lima model. This is in part to an extra 2mm which has been incorporated into the underframe suspension molding and the actual tank body. When measured from rail height to over the top of the filler hatches this should be 51mm, whereas the Dapol/Hornby model is 53mm and so will 'tower' over the train engine. The only means of correcting this would be to fit smaller wheelsets to the model to reduce the overall ride height down to around 51mm.
